Guests will be met on arrival at Maun Airport and transferred by light aircraft to Oddballs’ Enclave where they will stay for two nights. Oddballs’ Enclave is situated on the edge of Chief’s Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta and offers arguably the purest traditional Okavango Delta experience. Oddballs’ Enclave caters to the active traveller and undoubtedly represents great value for money.

This small intimate hideaway with spectacular views over the floodplain can accommodate a maximum of ten guests in five Meru style tents with rustic en-suite bathrooms, each individually built on a wooden platform and shaded by reed shelters. The bar and lounge areas have comfortable seating and a raised viewing deck overlooks the sweep of the delta – the perfect place to watch the sun rise over the floodplain and view whatever wildlife may be visiting. Meals are simple yet wholesome, and are enjoyed in the main complex.

Oddballs’ Enclave pays homage to a time when safaris were a real adventure. Activities are conducted by your own professional guide (a maximum of two guests per guide. The activities at Oddballs’ Enclave usually start by mokoro (water level dependant), after which you will walk on some of the larger islands in the area. Walking is an integral and significant part of the experience at any time of year. The extent of the walks will depend on your tastes. Some guests elect to go out for the whole day with a packed picnic lunch. It is often said that the very best way to experience the wonders of the African bush is on foot and Oddballs’ Enclave certainly lives up to that claim.

Day 3 & 4 - Khwai Community Area/Moremi Game Reserve

The two days in the Khwai Community Area will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. A mokoro excursion will take you along a channel of the Khwai River to view game from another perspective and to experience this tranquil mode of transport.  Game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm with half a day dedicated to exploring the Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 5 & 6 - SAVUTI/ZWEI ZWEI, Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes, will be your next destination.  As you continue your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savuti where bull elephants dot the plains.  Savuti is very well known for its predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and even African wild dog.  The Savuti Channel has started flowing again after being dry for the last 30 years.  The arrival of water is changing the landscape as well as accommodating different species which historically have not been able to survive in the rather arid plains of Savuti.  This exciting event has allowed large breeding herds of elephant as well as buffalo to visit the area.

Day 7 & 8 - CHOBE RIVER, Chobe National Park

You will then head northwards to the Chobe River where your game drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle.  The Chobe River Floodplain is an amazing game viewing area where water attracts large herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra and other herbivores.  Due to the proliferation of prey, predators are likely to be close at hand.  Sun sets in this region as always spectacular and allows amazing photographic opportunities.  While in Northern Chobe, you will participate in a cruise on the Chobe River.  This experience allows you to get a closer look at the aquatic animals and birds not easily approached on safari.
