7 Nights flying around Namibia

This eight-day fly-in safari starts with a flight from Windhoek in a southwesterly direction to the Sossusvlei area. Climb on top of the highest sand dunes in the world and enjoy the unique view of the vast spaces and the dunes from the aircraft. Along the coast, this memorable tour leads you to Swakopmund, a town hedged by the Namib Desert and the Atlantic Ocean. Choose between an adventurous Living Desert Tour in search of Namibias “Small Five” and a Catamaran Cruise in Walvis Bay to encounter dolphins, seals and various other marine wildlife, before you depart to the world-renowned rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and embark on a drive in search of the impressive desert adapted elephants which live in this area. This safari ends not less exciting than it has begun – you spend two nights at the private Ongava Game Reserve at the southern boundary of the famous Etosha National Park and explore the abundant wildlife within the National Park and the Game Reserve on game drives. Watch oryx, kudus, zebras and with a little luck, elephants, lions and rhinos at the numerous waterholes, before the safari ends back in Windhoek.

Day 1 & 2 - Sossuvlei

From Hosea Kutako International Airport, where you will embark on a light-aircraft transfer to Sossusvlei, home to some of the world's highest sand dunes. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by one of your local guides, who will transfer you to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.
Nestled deep in the heart of Namibia's ancient Namib Desert, the lodge is a secluded and serene oasis that overlooks awe-inspiring dunes and stony outcrops. A world of vast spaces, endless horizons and rugged mountain heights, the utter tranquillity and extraordinary clarity of light make this area one of Africa's most compelling landscapes.

Day 3 - Swakopmund

Today's flight will give you an aerial view of the majestic dunes surrounding Sossusvlei. Proceed along the coast (subject to weather conditions) over Conception Bay, Sandwich Harbour and its famous lagoon to Swakopmund. This quaint desert town with its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere hedged by desert and sea, is enhanced by lush green lawns and palm trees.

Day 4 & 5 - Twyfelfontien

This morning you have the choice between two morning activities. Embark on a Living Desert Tour in search of Namibia's "Small Five" or choose to go on a catamaran cruise from Walvis Bay to encounter dolphins, seals and various other Namibian marine wildlife. At midday we board our small aircraft for our charter to Twyfelfontein. After check-in at the camp we enjoy an afternoon excursion to Twyfelfontein. The following day we embark on a morning drive in search of some Desert Elephant.

Day 6 & 7 - Etosha National Park

After breakfast transfer to the airfield for your flight to a private game reserve bordering the Etosha National Park. Upon landing at Ongava's private airstrip your rangers already await you and will transfer you to Ongava Lodge. Ongava Lodge is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve. Ongava is the ideal place from which to base your activities when visiting Etosha. The following morning we embark on a morning game drive in the Etosha National Park. After a light lunch and a siesta back at the lodge we explore the Ongava Reserve on an afternoon game drive.

Day 8 - Departure

Today we fly back to Windhoek in time for check-in on your outbound flight. Take care of all formalities and bid farewell to Namibia!
