DETAILED ITINERARY
Explorations are led by highly skilled and qualified professional guides with an inborn passion for the natural regions of Namibia. Sharing the adventure and guiding you on this journey of discovery, combined with their vast knowledge of the natural world, history and culture, are their professions and personal hobbies. Many of our guides are also skilled photographers and can assist you in taking amazing wildlife photographs. Your guide will host you for the duration of the safari, providing you with a consistent, detailed interpretation that is shaped to your specific interests.
Diverse Namibia is a set departure small group safari, with a maximum of seven people per safari.
DAY 1 & 2
Met on arrival in Windhoek We recommend an overnight in Windhoek the night before.
You will be met by your Explorations guide and begin your journey by driving 340 kilometres (211 miles) through the Khomas Hochland mountains and down into the iconic Sossusvlei region. The driving time is approximately five hours .
Spend two days here and explore the iconic red dunes and be awed by the desert-adapted wildlife surviving in one of the world’s oldest and most arid deserts.
Stay at Kulala Adventurer Camp.

DAY 3 & 4
Depart early from Sossusvlei and drive through the snaking roads of the Kuiseb Canyon and out onto the expansive gravel plains, eventually arriving in Walvis Bay. From here you will continue north onto the quaint town of Swakopmund. This is a drive of about 5 – 6 hours (approximately 370 km / 230 miles).
Discover the town of Swakopmund and bed down in an iconic hotel that forms part of city’s architectural culture.
On Day 4, you explore the dramatic Atlantic coast with a “Dolphin and Seal” catamaran cruise from Walvis Bay (weather permitting). There might be time in the afternoon to add your own activity, or to explore the waterfront.

DAY 5 & 6
We continue our journey by road to Damaraland, west of the Brandberg Mountain. This area boasts the largest concentration of black rhino anywhere on the planet outside a national park. This drive is 320 kilometres (200 miles) and approximately 8-hours in duration. A stop to see the Twyfelfontein rock art is possible enroute to Damaraland.
The area boasts a varied assortment of desert-adapted wildlife and incredible geological formations. Morning and afternoon nature drives reveal the dramatic scenery, and fascinating wildlife of the region. Desert-adapted elephant are the highlight of the area, although the natural cycle of rainfall dictates the seasonal movements of wildlife along the Huab River. Take a walk and learn more about the ancient geological wonders of Damaraland; as well as the unique plants, birds and reptiles that have superbly adapted to this arid area.

DAY 7 & 8
We drive approximately 404 km (251 miles, and a 5-hour drive) to Ongava Game Reserve on the boundary of Etosha National Park.
Etosha remains the highest density wildlife area within Namibia, its fame justly acknowledged. We will have the opportunity to explore both the Ongava Game Reserve as well as Etosha National Park.
Guided afternoon/evening game drives take place on the 30 000-hectare private Ongava Game Reserve. The reserve is famed for its population of rhino as well as lion and other game such as antelope, including endemic black-faced impala, and zebra. Full- or half-day guided morning game drives in the Etosha National Park, Namibia’s prime savannah wilderness area (with packed lunch on full day). See the massive saltpan as well as the perennial springs that provide the water required by the Park’s high-density big game population.

DAY 9
Driving 420 kilometres (260 miles) south, we return to Windhoek at 13h00 and bid farewell to our adventure.
