  • HIPPO BOUTIQUE HOTEL 3 nts

Gardens is an inner-city suburb of Cape Town located just to the south of the city centre located in the higher elevations of the "City Bowl" and directly beneath Table Mountain and Lion's Head. The designers of Hippo set out to create an intimate homely atmosphere and environment, with a touch of opulence, naturally. Whether you’re after a single room, double room or executive suite, this designer hotel has it all.

  • LA FONTAINE 2 nts

Just a block away from the main village centre of Franschhoek with world-renowned restaurants, charming gift shops, cafes and magnificent historical buildings and museums to explore. If rest is what you need, stay in and enjoy the tranquil gardens and swimming pools that stretch over two properties. The outdoor breakfast patio and front veranda under their vine and wisteria pergolas boast views of the surrounding mountains and tranquil settings.

There are 17 large suites, all lavishly decorated with individual themes and character. Wake to a full breakfast served with locally roasted coffee. The team take personal care in your stay with La Fontaine being a family owned and run business.

  • MANTOBENI CAMP 3 nts

There are 15 tents which all nestled in a Tamboti grove overlooking the picturesque view of passing wildlife. The relaxation and dining area comprise of a tranquil lounge, a bar and an extensive climate controlled wine cellar and outdoor deck with sun loungers and adjoining splash pool.

Game visiting the nearby watering hole can be seen from the swimming pool deck which adjoins the reception area.

The tents at Mantobeni Camp are furnished with king-sized beds (can convert these to twins should this be required), mosquito nets and soft leather couches. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with a sunken concrete bath, double shower, his & hers basins and a separate toilet.

Guests are taken on game drives in open game viewing vehicles in the early morning and late afternoon/evening. Late afternoon and evening drives include sunset drinks, views over the Mohwareng Hills, and glimpses of nocturnal creatures. Larger game frequently sighted in the reserve includes elephant, rhino, lion and hippo. In between meals and drives, watch the game and birdlife pass by while relaxing by the pool or take a walking safari through the deep bush, accompanied by an experienced, armed ranger; it can be hot work, but it’s very exciting – seeing the animals from a vehicle just doesn’t seem to compare. Group tours are available to the nearby village of Welverdiend, where guests will learn about the relationship between traditional and contemporary living.

Activities on site or nearby include:

    • Bird watching from a newly built hide opposite a watering hole
    • Hiking and walking safaris
