DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, guests are warmly welcomed by our representative before heading out on an exploration of Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital, known for its clean streets, friendly atmosphere, and rich history. A visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial offers a poignant insight into the country’s past, while the bustling local markets and contemporary art galleries showcase Rwanda’s dynamic present. Lunch is enjoyed at a carefully selected local restaurant, offering a taste of authentic Rwandan cuisine.

After lunch, guests begin their scenic three-hour journey north to Kinigi, located at the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. The drive winds through the picturesque Rwandan countryside, with rolling green hills and terraced farms painting a breathtaking landscape. Upon arrival, guests check in at Bisate Lodge, their luxurious sanctuary for the next two nights.

Nestled within a natural amphitheater of eroded volcanic cones, Bisate Lodge is an eco-luxury retreat offering an immersive experience in Rwanda’s wilderness. The lodge’s design is inspired by traditional Rwandan architecture, with spherical thatched villas that blend seamlessly into the surrounding forest. Each of the six opulent villas boasts elegant interiors featuring locally handcrafted furnishings, rich textiles, and a fireplace to provide warmth during the cool mountain evenings. Private decks offer sweeping views of the mist-covered slopes of Volcanoes National Park, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation.

The main lodge area is an inviting space with a stylish lounge, a bar, and a dining area where gourmet meals crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients are served. Guests can unwind in the well-stocked library, participate in discussions on conservation efforts, or enjoy storytelling by the fireside. The lodge also features a wellness spa, offering soothing treatments that complement the serenity of the surrounding landscape.

DAY 2
Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Following an early breakfast at the lodge, guests depart for the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety. Led by experienced guides and trackers, you venture into the dense bamboo forests in search of one of the ten habituated gorilla families. The trek varies in duration and intensity, but the reward is an intimate and awe-inspiring encounter with these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Observing the gorillas’ social interactions, playful juveniles, and the powerful yet calm silverbacks is an unforgettable wildlife experience.

In the afternoon, weather permitting, guests have the option to visit the scenic twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. These serene lakes, surrounded by lush hills and fishing villages, offer a tranquil setting for relaxation and photography. Alternatively, they may explore the vibrant local markets of Musanze town, where they can engage with local artisans and purchase beautifully crafted souvenirs.

DEPART

On the final morning, guests return to the park for a golden monkey trekking excursion. These rare and energetic primates, known for their distinctive golden fur and playful nature, are a delight to observe as they leap through the bamboo forests.

After the trek, guests enjoy a leisurely lunch at the lodge before departing for Kigali. The return drive offers one last chance to take in Rwanda’s stunning landscapes. Upon arrival in Kigali, guests are transferred to the airport, where they check in for their international departure flight, marking the end of an extraordinary journey through Rwanda’s breathtaking wilderness and rich cultural heritage.
