DETAILED ITINERARY
DAYS 1 - 3
Chisa Busanga features just four unique “Nest” rooms, elevated on a small tree-lined island overlooking the plains. Each suite is designed to resemble a bird’s nest, blending naturally into the environment while offering remarkable comfort, privacy, and panoramic views. The rooms are fully en-suite, with large windows and private decks perfect for watching sunrise over the misty plains.
Days unfold in tune with the rhythm of the bush — with expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, and even e-biking excursions that allow quiet exploration of the area. The camp’s location offers superb opportunities to see large herds of lechwe, puku, and wildebeest, as well as predators like lion, cheetah, and sometimes even wild dog. Between activities, guests can relax by the plunge pool, unwind in the lounge, or enjoy a quiet afternoon on their deck soaking in the stillness of the plains.
Evenings at Chisa are serene and atmospheric, with sundowners enjoyed under a vast African sky, followed by dinner served around the campfire or beneath the stars. Guest feedback often highlights the exceptional service, innovative design, and the rare feeling of being completely immersed in nature without sacrificing comfort.
DAYS 4 - 7
Arrive by light aircraft and enjoy a short boat or vehicle transfer into Potato Bush Camp camp, where just three luxury tented suites and one family house are tucked beneath shady trees overlooking the river. Each tent features a private plunge pool, spacious deck, and elegant interiors of canvas and wood that blend naturally with the surroundings.
Days are spent exploring the park on guided game drives, walking safaris, canoe trips, boat cruises, and catch-and-release fishing. The wildlife is abundant, with regular sightings of elephants, hippos, buffalo, and a variety of predators and birdlife. Between activities, unwind by your plunge pool or in the main lounge, where open decks offer sweeping river views.
Evenings bring candlelit dinners under the stars, the sounds of the bush all around, and warm hospitality that makes this camp both luxurious and welcoming. Four nights at Potato Bush Camp provide the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and comfort in one of Zambia’s most beautiful wilderness settings.
DAYS 8 - 10
The camp is small and intimate, featuring five elevated A-frame canvas suites raised on wooden decks, each offering three open sides with sweeping 270-degree views of the Luangwa River and surrounding bush. Interiors combine sophisticated comfort with minimal impact: stylish furnishings, en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private decks from which you may hear hippos grunting at night or elephants crossing the river at dawn.
Days revolve around expert-led game and walking safaris (the camp is especially known for its “silent safari” electric 4x4 vehicles), open-vehicle drives day and night, and quieter bush walks that bring you closer to the landscape and wildlife. Bird-watching is excellent with more than 400 species recorded. Between outings, you’ll enjoy relaxed afternoons by the plunge pool, reading on your deck, or simply watching the wildlife drift by from camp. Evening meals are served on raised decks overlooking the river, sometimes in a bush-setting, followed by nights listening to the wild rhythms of the valley.
