DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Victoria Falls


  • Stay at: Batonka Lodge, a comfortable and excellent value lodge in hte heart of the town of Victoria Falls, a few minutes from town centre and the falls.

  • Activities: Take in the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls on foot from various viewpoints, the devil's cataract all the way to danger point overlooking Zambia. Enjoy a helicopter flight over the falls for a breathtaking aerial view. There are many adventure activities available here but you will need another night's accommodation and a full day in the falls to experience them, just let us know! Whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, zip-lining etc owith the Zambezi River below.


Day 2 - 4: Hwange National Park


  • Stay at: The Hide, a luxurious safari camp located in a private concession area of Hwange National Park.

  • Go on morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, searching for Hwange's diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and cheetahs. Take a walking safari for a more intimate bush experience. Enjoy a bush picnic or dinner under the stars.

  • Hwange is home to over 100 mammal species and 400 bird species, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, wild dogs, and sable antelopes. Birdlife is prolific, with highlights like the Southern Ground Hornbill, Lilac-breasted Roller, and Martial Eagle.


Day 5 - 7: Matusadona National Park


  • Stay at: Changa Safari Camp, an intimate tented camp on the shores of Lake Kariba in Matusadona National Park.

  • Enjoy boat safaris on Lake Kariba, searching for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes coming down to drink. Go on game drives in the Matusadona wilderness, looking for lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. Safari walks are also available and there is a spa in camp for relaxing treatments.

  • Matusadona is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. The lake also attracts a wealth of waterbirds, such as pelicans, cormorants, and darters.


Day 8 - 10: Mana Pools National Park


  • Stay at: Johns Camp, a classic, tented safari camp located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools National Park.

  • Go on game drives in Mana Pools' diverse landscapes, including woodlands, mopane forests, and floodplains. Enjoy canoeing or fishing on the Zambezi River. Go on a walking safari for a close-up encounter with the park's wildlife.

  • Mana Pools is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and hippos. The birdlife is also prolific, with over 350 species recorded in the park.


Best time to visit:


  • The dry season (June to October) is generally the best time to visit Zimbabwe for safaris, as the wildlife is more concentrated around water sources and the vegetation is less dense. However, the green season (November to March) can also be a good time to visit, as the landscape is lush and there is a chance of seeing newborn animals.
