THE FULL STORY

The design blends contemporary safari style with strong local influence, using timber, stone and thatch to reflect traditional architecture while incorporating large glass fronts that open up the views. It is under-stated luxury! The main lodge has a high roof and is centred around a warm, inviting lounge and dining space with a fireplace, creating a cosy retreat in the cool mountain climate. Open decks and terraces extend out towards the forest, ensuring that the landscape remains the focal point throughout the property.

Accommodation is in a small collection of bandas, each positioned for privacy and uninterrupted forest views. These range from standard to more spacious deluxe options, all with private verandas overlooking the canopy. Interiors are stylish yet natural, with wooden finishes, soft textiles and comfortable beds, while fireplaces in the rooms add warmth in the evenings. En-suite bathrooms are well appointed with hot showers and modern fittings, balancing comfort with the lodge’s low-impact ethos.

The Forest Spa offers massages and wellness treatments in a tranquil setting, while the lodge’s social spaces encourage a relaxed, communal atmosphere after a day in the forest.
