THE FULL STORY
The style of the lodge blends traditional African thatch and timber architecture with open-plan living that takes full advantage of the river views. The main communal area is a wood-and-thatch structure with comfortable lounges, a dining space, and a fully stocked bar, all designed to let the outdoors in. A sparkling infinity pool and sunloungers give you a place to relax and watch the river, and there’s a cozy bonfire area and a tree hide overlooking a waterhole for spotting wildlife with a closer view.
Accommodation here is in luxurious tented suites that stand on raised decks with sweeping views of the Zambezi. Interiors are spacious and tastefully decorated in earthy hues with touches of white, sage, and duck-egg tones that reflect the natural surroundings. Each tent typically has an extra-length king-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, seating area, mini bar, tea-and-coffee facilities and an electronic safe, while en-suite bathrooms include twin washbasins, indoor and outdoor showers and a freestanding bath. Many units even have private plunge pools on the deck. Family suites offer additional sleeping space for children, and other lodging styles include island treehouses and elevated starbeds for a more unique stay.
Facilities extend beyond the rooms, with spa treatments and in-room massages available, a business desk and information service, and plenty of space to relax by the pool or around the bonfire at night. Guests often comment on the high quality of the food, with meals prepared from locally sourced ingredients and fine dining touches that complement the safari setting. The spa offers a serene place for pampering, and the lodge’s well-trained guides are there to help plan excursions.
Activities span both land and water. Game drives and guided bush walks take you into the heart of Zambezi National Park where elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and many antelope species roam, while river cruises, canoe safaris and fishing trips show off the rich birdlife and aquatic scenery. There’s also easy access to the thrill activities around Victoria Falls itself, from helicopter flights to rafting and bungee jumping for the adventurous. Birdwatching, sunset cruises and tailored children’s programs mean everyone in the family can find something to enjoy.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, board games, and a relaxed but elegant atmosphere make it easy to unwind after a day of activities.
