Magic Manyeleti

I was recently had the chance spend a night at the Mantobeni Camp, which can be found in the pristine Manyeleti Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Mantobeni is a small satellite camp of Khoka Moyo, where we where met my our tracker and transferred by game viewing vehicle to Mantobeni reception.

The reception flows smoothly into the Lounge, bar and dining area, where the tentative staff are always on hand to offer a warm cappuccino or a cold beer. The food was scrumptious with a distinctly south african flavour that was well received Adjacent to the Dining area is the swimming pool and fire pit all overlooking the camp waterhole.

The camp comprises of 12 Meru styled canvas tents, that give you a really authentic african experience with all the comforts you would expect from modern hotel room... you are by no means camping! The tents are well spread out among a grove of Tamboti trees on the banks of a dry riverbed.

Our tracker and Ranger were very knowledgeable about all facets of the beautiful nature we found our selves in and did there best to ensure we made the most of our time on game drives. With great sightings of general game and an exhilarating moment following two young male lions off-road as they manouvered though the bush before disappearing into a riverine thicket.

The highlights for me where the sounds of the African bush at night that could be clearly heard though the tent and the short walk we did to end off our morning game drive.

All in all Mantobeni is magic little camp that offers guests great value for money in the 3 to 4 star market.
