$5000 to CONSERVATION

On the back of World Wildlife Day Conservation Safari Company is donating $5000 to the purchase and rehabilitation of land on the border of Gishwati Forest in Rwanda. The contribution falls in line with our philosophy of protecting land through tourism and gaining the support of the community to benefit from it, ensuring its future survival. Gishwati sadly lost nearly 90% of its size through Rwanda's turbulent 80's and 90's, leaving the forest as an island and in desperate need of protection and expansion. In combination with Wilderness Safaris and their Trust, and the Forest of Hope Association in Gishwati, the funds will be well utilised. Wilderness Safaris plans a luxury lodge in the future where tourism will sustain the forest and surrounding communities.
